Scholarships & Financial Aid

We understanding that paying for college can be a stressful topic. All incoming and current poultry science students should complete the University of Arkansas general scholarship application and the Bumpers College general application. The scholarship application cycle opens Jan. 1 and closes Feb. 15 of every year. Please visit the Bumpers College Scholarship page to learn more about the application process.  

Every year the poultry science department awards approximately $99,000 to our students. See our departmental scholarships below:

Eligible applicants must be Poultry Science majors and meet the following criteria:

Richard H. Forsythe Scholarship

Must have declared Poultry Science major at least one semester prior to applying; strong academic background with strong work ethic, demonstrated leadership ability and professional potential in poultry industry.

Daryle & Peggy Greene Scholarship

Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA; incoming freshmen must have minimum high school GPA of 3.50 with a 24 or higher ACT score; incoming transfer students must have completed at least 12 college hours with a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA.  Recipients must actively participate in at last half of all Poultry Science Club meetings/activities, and are expected to help at least 15 hours at one or more departmental events.

Dr. Grover C. Harris, Jr. Endowed  Scholarship

Undergraduate students active in 4-H.

Oliver J. Hubbard Memorial Poultry Science Scholarship

Financial need; academics within top 10% of declared Poultry Science majors; good work ethic and leadership ability

James and Wanda Irwin Poultry Science Scholarship

Scholastic ability; financial need

J.O. Kumpe, Sr. Scholarship

Preference given to students with expressed interest in poultry product technology and further processing

Talmadge S. Nelson Endowed Scholarship

Junior or Senior standing with minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average

Seniors; 3.50 cumulative grade point average, member of Pre-Vet Club in good standing

E. L. Stephenson Poultry Scholarship

Must have declared a Poultry Science major at least one semester prior to scholarship application; transfer students must have completed two semesters at U of A; strong academic background; strong work ethic; demonstrated leadership ability and professional potential in poultry industry.

Randal Tyson Endowed Scholarship
