Studying poultry science will prepare you to pursue a career in either rural or urban settings, on both foreign and domestic soils. Our department at the University of Arkansas offers you the ideal starting point for that career. Our undergraduate degree gives students a broad education in the science and business of animal agriculture, focusing on poultry. Additionally, we offer a pre-professional curriculum emphasis for students wishing to apply to a professional school in medicine, dental, pharmaceutical or the veterinary sciences.
The Department of Poultry Science also offers M.S. and Ph.D. programs and a 3+1 Poultry Science Transfer Degree.
Undergraduate
The Department of Poultry Science offers a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Poultry Science, and a Pre-Professional (veterinary sciences, medicine, dental, or pharmaceutical) curriculum emphasis.
Graduate
The Department of Poultry Science provides the curriculum for M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in various discipline areas.
3 + 1 Transfer Degree
The 3+1 Poultry Science Transfer Degree Program is a program wherein the first three years of study are completed at A-State or the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and the final year of study is completed at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Pre-Professional Emphasis
Are you interested in pursuing professional school after graduation? Our new Pre-Professional Emphasis allows undergraduates to meet criteria for admission into medical, veterinary, pharmacy and other professional schools, while earning a degree at the same time for more career opportunities.
